Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS)

Knee Pain While Walking, Climbing, or Sitting? We’ve Got Your Knees Covered

Pain in the front of your knee while walking up stairs, running, squatting, or even sitting for long? This may be Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, also known as Runner’s Knee — a condition that affects athletes, working professionals, and anyone with imbalanced knee mechanics.

At Physio Ace Physiotherapy & Sports Rehab Clinic, we specialize in treating PFPS with a holistic, movement-based approach that not only relieves pain but restores strength, mobility, and proper biomechanics.

What is Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome?

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome occurs when the cartilage under the kneecap (patella) becomes irritated due to improper tracking or overloading during movement. This creates pain around or behind the kneecap, especially during activities that involve bending or pressure on the knee joint.

It is one of the most common causes of knee pain, especially in:
  • Runners and athletes
  • Desk-bound professionals
  • Adolescents during growth spurts
  • People returning to activity after a long break
